Worksite assessments

We provide specialised worksite assessments to improve workplace safety and employee wellbeing. Our team of experienced professionals provides a range of services and recommends tailored strategies that evaluate equipment and working conditions and identify potential hazards and fixes to ensure an employee can work or return to work safely and productively.

Functional capacity evaluations

These assessments determine if employees have the physical capabilities required for their roles, aiding in injury prevention and facilitating smooth return to work transitions

A functional capability evaluation is essential in ensuring a safe and timely return to the workplace. Whether an employee has experienced physical injury or been diagnosed with a medical condition, we can help them get back on the job. Our experts work in conjunction with employees and employers to map out the best back-to-work approach.

We take the time to determine their current functional capacity and how they can be supported to achieve the best return-to-work outcome. This includes any major barriers, future rehabilitation needs, modifications that can/need to be made to the workplace and the potential to restructure workloads.

When is a functional capacity evaluation needed?

A functional capacity evaluation might be required in the following circumstances:

  • When an employee has had a lengthy absence from work, including recovering from injury or illness.
  • When an employee’s doctor requires information about the worksite.
  • When it is unclear whether a worker can return to a pre-injury role and/or whether any alterations are needed to the workplace or their workload.
  • When there is a persistent problem in the workplace, such as employees reporting pain after completing a particular task.

Ergonomic assessments

Ergonomic assessments are a vital tool in addressing the risks associated with poor workplace design, improper use of equipment and repetitive tasks.

We conduct impartial, in-depth evaluations of working environments and recommend strategies to reduce the risk of injury and improve productivity.

With experience conducting ergonomic assessments in a diverse range of industries, our team is highly practiced in evaluating workspaces and practices in offices and industrial settings.

From temperature and lighting to how employees are standing or sitting at their workstation, each assessment provides an in-depth analysis of risks and potential hazards.

We offer organisations tailored advice to enhance the wellbeing and safety of their employees, including recommendations to improve posture, reduce strain, and prevent workplace injuries.

Job Task Analysis

A Job Task Analysis (JTA) involves an assessment and breakdown of the skills and demands associated with a specific task, role, or set of duties within the workplace. This process includes a detailed description of the physical requirements of the role, considering factors such as task frequency and duration, environmental conditions, and the equipment necessary to perform the job. Our experienced team can assess job tasks to identify potential concerns and recommend safer and efficient work practices.

Fitness for work and fitness for duty assessments

Is an employee fit for work?

While this sounds like a simple question, it can be a tough one to answer. That’s where Assessment Squared comes in.

We offer fitness-for-work and fitness-for-duty assessments to ensure employees are physically and mentally capable of performing their job safely and effectively.

Using a comprehensive, evidence-based approach, we assess various factors such as physical fitness, cognitive function and emotional stability.

Our fitness-for-work assessments help organisations manage any health concerns that may impact an employee’s ability to work safely and productively. They also assist in identifying any heightened physical or psychological risks to the employee, their co-workers or members of the public. Our detailed reports can provide an organisation with clarity around an employee’s health condition and whether they need retraining or rehabilitation to aid their recovery.

Our fitness-for-duty assessments are specifically for employees with a non-related injury or illness who are seeking to return to a specific position.

We can help organisations determine whether an employee has the capacity to fulfil their role and identify any potential impact on their colleagues.

These assessments help employers maintain a safe and productive workplace, reduce the risk of injury, support the wellbeing of their workforce and comply with regulatory requirements.
